We are getting a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel and more

CD Projekt Red confirms Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, next Witcher trilogy and a new IP.

Yup, you read that right. The popular Cyberpunk 2077 is getting a whole new sequel. The developer CD Projekt Red announced yesterday in a update to its company strategy. The new success of Cyberpunk 2077 has had the company rethinking its priorities as a game development studio. All thanks to the Netflix series Cyberpunk Edgerunners which has helped gain this massive success.

The new sequel for Cyberpunk 2077 is codenamed ‘Orion’ by the developers. Further details of the new sequel was not released as of yet, however the developers are working on a Multiplayer version for the current game. The announcement also admitted to the mess of a launch that Cyberpunk 2077 went through and mentions that they have taken measures to avoid future launches to be the same.

Amongst the new Cyberpunk 2077 announcement the developers also mention a new installment to ‘The Witcher’ series codenamed ‘Polaris’. The new installment however is set to release over a six year period. Which could mean that the game is in very early development stages.

A new IP is also under development codenamed ‘Hadar’. No details about this new IP was released in the announcement. And it seems like the studio is really keeping the details under wraps. All we know for now is that it is a “entirely distinct IP”, that will be “created from scratch” within CD Projekt Red.
